ABOUT US

Elm City Social evokes the spirit of the 1920s, bringing back to life the craftwork of cocktails that has been lost until now.  In the kitchen, Chef John Brennan draws you in with seasonally inspired menus that can only be described as “comfort food with a flavorful twist.”

People love our style; we were even named one of the Best New Restaurants by Connecticut Magazine. We’re located inside the historic building that once housed Kasey’s Restaurant in the early 1900’s. By the corner of Chapel and College Streets, we’re situated across the street from the famed Shubert Theater and just off the New Haven Green.

WHAT NEW HAVEN HAS TO SAY

"The drinks here are outstanding! Had a rooftop party here of 60 people and it could not have gone better! The staff was unbelievable and the food and drinks were awesome! Such a great time and social place. Exactly what I envisioned for our get together. Thank you!"

“I love Elm City Social; it’s a gem in New Haven. The service is always very friendly; food and drink come very quietly and dishes are always cleared. The drinks are so freaking creative-the rubber ducky and now the fall sangria are my two favorites. Elm City Social just has this awesome vibe-I love sitting back, eating and drinking great dishes and cocktails and having a good conversation.”

“The food is consistently good and tasty. I came here for restaurant week a while back and had a yummy salmon burger. In more recent visits I’ve tried the mac n cheese and the tuna tacos. The tuna tacos were awesome – spicy tuna tartare in tiny little tacos made of fried eggroll wrappers, placed on a bed of spicy cabbage slaw and then drizzled in even more spicy mayo. I’m a bit of a spicy tuna addict when it comes to sushi, so this dish was absolute perfection to me. I’m craving it now thinking about it.”
